CATS & KITTENS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

Gracie - quiet and waiting for a scratch under her chin, Gracie was found as a stray (with her kittens) and was placed in a foster home where until all were ready for adoption. With her kittens all placed into loving homes, Gracie waits for her new home. Happy to have a kind voice and gentle pet come her way, she needs someone who will let her confidence grow and allow her to relax in a new home. Spayed and up-to-date on her vaccinations, she awaits a new guardian in her life.

Nitro - Nitro traveled a long way to get to Maine.  He was rescued from a shelter in the south and brought to the SPCA for a chance at a better life.  The first to say hello when you walk in the room, Nitro will be sure to get your attention.  Handsome and rugged are a couple ways to describe Nitro.  He is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.

Annie – pretty and petite, Annie was recently surrendered to the shelter. At first she is a little cautious around strangers but once you give her that gentle pet, scratch under her chin or a rub against her cheek, she is your new best friend! Spayed and vaccinated, all she needs now to make her life complete is a home of her own.

Griffin - Griffin is a great cat—affectionate and relaxed.  He is in foster care, living in a home with 3 large dogs & 5 cats, and he adjusted to that easily & quickly.  He is cautious, but doesn’t seem afraid of any of the animals.
Griffin is trained to walk with a harness & leash, & he clearly looks forward to his walks.  It’s a great way to keep him safe, but still allow him to snoop around outdoors.
Griffin has a urinary tract disorder, which is controlled by diet.  HE MUST BE ON A SPECIAL DIET FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE.  But this is a small price to pay for such a personable, affectionate cat.
Zoe - This beautiful mama has raised her babies and is ready for her forever home.   Sometimes sweet and affectionate, and other times ready to play, she is sure to steal your heart.
Macy – affectionate, playful and ready to give you a touch of her paw to say hello, Macy is a great cat. Surrendered to the SPCA, she has been nothing short of a wonderful. She seems to like her personal space when around other cats but does crave the attention she gets from her human friends. About 2 years old, she is spayed and up-to-date on her vaccinations.
Smokey – pretty, friendly and so very sweet, Smokey was surrendered with her friend (Parker) after her guardian needed some care of her own and moved into a nursing facility. This older kitty is always gentle and happy to say hello, she is vaccinated and spayed and just needs a chance for a new home.

Mandy - The first thing you will notice about Mandy is she is a strikingly beautiful calico.  Mandy spent some time in foster care while she had her kittens, now she is ready to find her forever home.  Mandy's beauty and sweet disposition are sure to steal your heart.
Charlotte - She may appear reserved but once she is given lots of love and attention she becomes your best friend.  She enjoys cuddling with other cats and would like to share a home with at least one other feline friend.  Up to date on vaccinations, she is ready for her new home.
Harold - Harold is a 5 year tuxedo cat with the cutest face.  He is all muscle, larger than average, and very sweet and affectionate.  His favorite pastime is laying down, trying to snag a tail on an unsuspecting cat walking by, then engaging in a little playtime with them through  the cage.  Neutered and up to date on vaccinations, harold is ready to go home and would compliment any family.
Emma - Once shy Emma now enjoys people and is always willing to be petted.  Emma would benefit being place with other cats and is often found snuggled up with a friend in the community cat room.  She is up to date on vaccinations and ready to go.
Sox - cute and content for a friendly pet, Sox was surrendered to us because her previous guardian felt that her behavior was not predicable. What we have found is a friendly cat who enjoys attention but is able to tell you when she has had enough. Slightly overweight, she will benefit if her next guardian monitors her diet and helps her to be a little more active. Spayed and up-to-date on her vaccinations, she'll be a welcomed addition in the home of the kind person who adopts her.

Tabitha – always ready to greet with a friendly meow, Tabitha was found as a stray but unfortunately was never claimed by her guardian. At 3 years old, she is happy and relaxed with everyone at the shelter, including the many other cats she shares the shelter with. Happy for attention, this brown tabby would be a wonderful companion. Spayed and up-to-date on her vaccinations, she is ready for a forever home.

Coal, Shadow & Midnight - a very special group of three, these brothers were born in a basement and were without human contact for the first 5 months of their life. With the assistance of a wonderful foster care parent, the 3 of them have made great strides in their acceptance of people and we now feel they are ready for adoption (in a patient and experienced home). One of the brothers is very comfortable with  attention and affection coming his way and one of his siblings is nearly there too. The other however will need more time but in the right setting the potential is certainly there. We'd really like to see them be adopted as a group so we hope their forever home is out there. Neutered and vaccinated, they are ready...if you are.
Thai - feisty and full of personality, this in one cat who is a true original! Beautiful and unusual can describe her looks and her attitude. A meow can be a gentle request for a pet or to back off! This long-haired mix has made incredible strides since she was first surrendered and has quickly become an incredible success story with her new found love for adventure and people. Soft to pet and yes, she does have a soft-side to her personality, all she needs is someone to listen to her cues and they'll have the rewards of a very special cat to share their home. She is about 2 and half years old, spay and vaccinated so the only thing left for her is a new forever home.
