The SPCA of Hancock County is an independent organization. We are not affiliated with any national animal rescue groups, and we do not receive federal or state funding. Therefore, your support is crucial in helping us to meet the needs of the animals in our care.
There are many ways to give – choose what best fits your giving style. And…thank you!!
Every donation, no matter how small, helps us keep the animals in our care happy and healthy until we can find them their permanent home. Click on the Donate button to make a secure donation with PayPal.
If you don’t have a PayPal account, you can also use your credit card. Click here to learn how.
We now have the ability to accept donations by subscription! You can choose a variety of payment amounts and have it automatically charged to your credit card monthly if you prefer.

Walk For A Dog
Walking your dog can raise money for the SPCA of Hancock County in 4 easy steps:
1. Download the Wooftrax App on your IPhone or Android
2. Select the SPCA of Hancock County, ME
3. Create a profile for your pet/s
4. WALK YOUR DOG!
This program lets you turn your refundable bottles and cans into support for us! Here’s how it works:
Pick up Clynk bags at the SPCA, which have our bar code sticker on them. (There is a supply of bags on the side of the refundable return bin, in front of the SPCA. Stop by anytime to grab bags.)
Fill the bags with your refundable bottles and cans, then drop back at the SPCA or at Hannaford in Ellsworth or Bar Harbor or at any other participating Hannaford in Maine. (Note: if you don’t have a specially tagged Clynk bag, not to worry. Drop your refundables off at the SPCA bin and we will make sure they are tagged appropriately.)
The proceeds will go to us! (And be sure to check out our CLYNK / Hannaford video here!!)
When creating or modifying a Last Will and Testament, a donor may bequeath a gift to the SPCA of Hancock County. Your gift may include real estate, managed assets, cash, and/or life insurance proceeds.
The annual appeal is mailed each October. If you’re looking for that end-of-year contribution to support a nonprofit and you want to help us care for the animals that need us, this option is for you!
However you choose to support us, and whatever the amount, we are grateful for your help. Thank you!
