As you can imagine, a lot goes on in an animal shelter beyond answering the phone, so because we are frequently needed by the animals, phone lines are currently regularly answered from 12pm to 4pm Wednesdays through Saturdays. Calls made before or after these hours may go to our voicemail, and we will get back to you as soon as we can. We highly recommend calling your local animal control officer if you are searching for a lost pet or have a concern about animal welfare or cruelty, since we do not have an animal control officer on staff and are not a stray holding facility.
You are also welcome to reach us by email or through our social media accounts. We will try to get back to you as soon as possible.
The SPCA can accept relinquished animals by appointment only.
You are welcome to visit our facility on Wednesday through Saturday from 12pm to 4pm to meet and hang out with our cats. To adopt, you must have an approved application on file, so if you fill out an application while visiting, it may take a few days for us to reach your vet or landlord for the necessary references. If you visit and have already been approved, it is very likely you can leave with the cat of your choosing that same day, so please come prepared with a carrier.
To keep the experience as positive for our dogs, since they can be reactive when new people approach their kennels, we prefer to have visitors meet them outside in the play yard or in the real-life room, so an appointment is required for dog meet-and-greets.
