The Mickey Duffy Fund

Tom Duffy and Mickey

Tom Duffy was the county’s head of courthouse maintenance in 2012 and 2013. Tom adopted Mickey, a border collie, after the dog had suffered serious injuries from his previous owner. Tom often brought Mickey to work with him, where Mickey was welcomed and cheered in his rehabilitation by courthouse staff.

Sadly Tom Duffy died in 2014, but he created The Mickey Duffy Trust Fund for Animal Rescue in his will.

The Mickey Duffy Fund

Saving homeless animals is our mission. So is helping pet owners in Hancock County keep their beloved pets in need of emergency medical care in their own home where they are happiest.

Imagine Sadie, a beloved feline family member. Sadie has been with “her people” for over 10 years. Sadly, Sadie is suddenly in need of emergency veterinary care. Unfortunately Sadie’s people have fallen on hard times and cannot afford her care. So they surrender Sadie in the hope of getting her the care she needs. But Sadie’s people are crestfallen and so is Sadie. She has no idea why she is suddenly living in a cage in such a strange place. Sadie is sick, scared, and disoriented.
It doesn’t have to be like this though. The Mickey Duffy Fund can help families who are already struggling financially to get through the crisis of steep or emergency veterinary bills. They won’t have to surrender “their Sadie.”

We need your help build the Mickey Duffy Fund. Please donate what you can so you can help families in need meet unexpected veterinary bills and keep their beloved pets at home. Thank you so much!
