What donations do we need?

This is one of our most commonly asked questions, so we thought we would try to make it easier for everyone by having a handy-dandy post about what items we regularly need and use, along with a list of what items we actually do not need.

Most-needed items:

    • Cat and dog food (wet and dry; we prefer Purina brands when possible but accept all donated brands because we also stock the pet pantry with excess.)

    • Bleach

    • Like-new bath-sized towels (we cannot use towels that are fraying)

    • Hand towels and washcloths

    • Small fleecy blankets (like these)

    • Snuggle safes or heating pads

    • Laundry detergent (unscented)

    • Trash bags (ranging from 15 gallon to 33 gallon size, we use them all)

    • Hidey cat beds (the cave-like ones)

    • Bathroom rugs/floor mats

    • Wood pellets for cat litter (such as Crabbe softwood pellets or Feline Pine cat litter)

Items our animals love to receive:

    • Cardboard scratchers or carpet remnants to make scratchers for the cats

    • Catnip, dried and fresh

    • Super chewer dog toys, like Bully Make

    • Snuffle mats

    • Cheese for the doggos

    • Peanut butter, no xylitol or birch sugar

    • Plain Greek yogurt

    • Plain cream cheese

We appreciate the generosity of our community, but these are some items we unfortunately cannot use primarily because they become a health risk to the animals if ingested:

    • Comforters, quilts, large blankets or blankets that are filled

    • Pillows

    • Mattress pads

    • Damaged or fraying linens

    • Clothing, shoes, dinnerware, etc. Sometimes these are donated for yard sales, but we will give specific instructions of when and where we accept donations like this.

If you are ever in doubt of what to buy for our animals, we actually have made wish lists on Amazon and Chewy to make shopping for them as easy as possible. Simply buy something from our wish list and it will be shippedd to us. Thank you for your giving spirit and support!
